How We Compared Them

We make Vora, which is exactly why this page leans on sources you can check rather than on our opinion. Bevel facts come from Bevel's help center, its App Store listing, its own posts on r/bevelhealth, and TechCrunch. Vora facts come from Vora's App Store and Google Play listings, Vora's help center and integrations page. Prices and ratings are from the US App Store on September 14, 2026. Both apps change often, so check the listings before you pay.

Bevel at a Glance

Bevel is made by Finerpoint, Inc. TechCrunch describes it as a New York based startup that started in late 2023 and raised a $10 million Series A from General Catalyst in October 2025. On the App Store it holds a 4.8 rating from about 16,000 ratings, and it ships often: eleven 3.1 versions came out between July 13 and September 14, 2026.

Free: Recovery, Sleep, Strain, Stress, and Energy Bank scores; nutrition tracking by barcode, image, recipe, or text, with a food database of more than 6 million items; Strength Builder with more than 700 exercises; fitness tracking, health monitors, cycle tracking, a smart alarm, a journal, and the Apple Watch app.

Bevel Pro: Bevel Intelligence, an AI coach that answers questions about your data, runs check-ins, and helps plan nutrition and training; Health Records for lab results and clinical documents; and Biological Age. Bevel 3.0, released in April 2026, rebuilt Bevel Intelligence around proactive check-ins, a files system for long-term memory, and AI-built training plans and strength workouts. Pro includes a weekly Intelligence allowance that resets every 7 days, and Bevel sells credit packs from $4.99 to $49.99 for heavier use.

Data sources: Apple Watch through Apple Health, direct Garmin and Oura connections, Google Health (which also carries Fitbit data), the Amazfit Helio Strap through Apple Health, and a one-way export to Strava.

Community: Bevel runs a public feature-request board, and the Bevel team says its subreddit generated more than 2,700 posts, 17,000 comments, 7,000 new members, and 2 million views in 2025.

Vora at a Glance

Vora is made by Vora AI Inc, which is us. It is on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, and on Google Play. It holds a 4.6 rating from 91 App Store ratings, so its public track record is far shorter than Bevel's.

Free: according to Vora's help center, food and workout logging, every health data connection, Bloodwork, Sleep, Recovery and Strain scores, one AI workout suggestion and 10 AI messages a day. There is also a readiness score built from muscle recovery, last night's sleep, HRV against your two-week average, training load and resting heart rate.

Vora Pro: 100 AI messages a day instead of 10, AI-generated workouts, three workout suggestions instead of one, choosing which device powers each metric, and Deep Health Reports, plus features such as Voice Chat and Morning and Night Briefs.

Food and training: log food by photo, barcode, voice, or restaurant search, with a USDA-backed database that tracks 90 nutrients per food. With Vora Pro, the AI writes workouts from your recent training, per-muscle recovery, goals and equipment, with a strain map across more than 20 muscle groups.

Data sources: Apple Health on iPhone and Health Connect on Android, plus direct Oura, Garmin, Fitbit and WHOOP (beta) connections on both phones and a direct Samsung Health connection on Android 10 or later. Direct WHOOP and Fitbit spots are limited.

Also included: 35 guided meditation sessions across 7 meditation types, cycle tracking with phase-specific recommendations, and water and supplement tools.

Where Bevel Is the Better Pick

  • Track record. About 16,000 App Store ratings at 4.8, against Vora's 91, and eleven releases in nine weeks this summer.
  • A big free tier. Everything except the AI coach, Health Records, and Biological Age is free, so you can use Bevel indefinitely without paying.
  • Strength training with Apple Watch. Strength Builder has more than 700 exercises, live sync between watch and phone, and live heart rate from AirPods Pro 3 or a Bluetooth sensor such as Fitbit Air.
  • Health records and Biological Age. Pro members can import lab results and clinical records and track a Biological Age in the same app.
  • A roadmap you can vote on. Bevel's public feature board shows what is under review, planned, in progress, and complete.

Where Vora Is the Better Pick

  • Planning, not just scores. Vora's readiness score decides whether your daily plan suggests training or rest, and with Vora Pro its AI writes workouts around your muscle recovery.
  • Detailed nutrient tracking. Log by photo, barcode, voice, or restaurant search, with 90 tracked nutrients per food.
  • One coach across phones. Vora runs on iPhone and Android, so you keep the same coach if you switch.
  • Different direct connections. Vora connects WHOOP (in beta, with limited spots) and, on Android 10 or later, Samsung Health directly. Neither appears in Bevel's list of supported integrations.
  • Mind as well as body. Guided meditation and breathing sessions are built in.

Which Should You Choose?

Choose Bevel if you are on iPhone, want the more proven tracker of the two, and like the idea of paying only if you later want an AI coach, health records, or Biological Age.

Choose Vora if you want an app that tells you what to do today across training, food, and recovery, you care about micronutrients, or your household mixes iPhone and Android.

Not sure? Both are free to start. On an iPhone both can read the same Apple Health data, so run each for a week and keep the one you actually open.

Where Vora Fits

We make Vora. It is built for the moment after the score: its readiness score turns last night's sleep and this week's training into a training or rest suggestion, next to your food log, on iPhone or Android. If that is what you are missing from a tracker, try Vora free.

Limits to know: chat with Vora's AI coach, in the app or with Vora AI Text, is free for 10 messages a day. Direct WHOOP and Fitbit spots are limited, Samsung Health does not share HRV, resting heart rate or respiratory rate with Vora, and Garmin's Body Battery and Training Readiness scores are not imported.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Bevel app?

Bevel is an iPhone and Apple Watch health app from Finerpoint, Inc. It tracks recovery, sleep, strain, stress, nutrition, strength training, and cycles for free, and its Pro tier adds the Bevel Intelligence AI coach, Health Records, and Biological Age.

What is the difference between Bevel and Vora?

Bevel is a mature iPhone tracker with a large free tier and a paid AI coach. Vora, which we make, keeps food and workout logging, every health data connection and 10 AI messages a day free, tracks 90 nutrients per food, includes meditation, and runs on both iPhone and Android.

Is Bevel better than Vora?

For an iPhone user who wants a proven, highly rated tracker with a lot free, Bevel is a strong pick. Vora is the better fit if you want coaching that plans your day, detailed nutrient tracking, or one app across iPhone and Android. We make Vora, so try both free and decide.

How much do Bevel and Vora cost?

Both are free to start. In the US App Store on September 14, 2026, Bevel Pro was $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year, with optional AI credit packs from $4.99 to $49.99, and Vora Pro was $12.99 a month or $89.99 a year.

What devices does Bevel work with?

Bevel's help center lists Apple Watch through Apple Health, direct Garmin and Oura connections, Google Health (which also carries Fitbit data), the Amazfit Helio Strap through Apple Health, and a one-way export to Strava.

Can I use Bevel and Vora together?

Yes. On an iPhone both apps can read the same Apple Health data. Most people settle on one for daily decisions, because two apps calculating recovery from the same data will not always agree.
